New Mangalore Port handles 4 lakh tonne fertiliser

MANGALORE: New Mangalore Port handled four lakh tonnes of fertiliser cargo so far during the current financial year.

Port officials say it is the highest quantity of fertiliser ever handled at the port. They hope to handle fertiliser cargo in a big way in the months to come.

On November 11, the port handled a record quantity of 10,127 tonnes of MOP (muriate of potash). It handled 5,714 tonnes of urea on October 21.
