Engineering Thermax Q2 net up 134 pc Our Bureau
Pune , Nov 17 THERMAX Ltd, player in the energy and environment sectors, on Thursday announced a 134 per cent increase in net profit to Rs 25.3 crore for the second quarter of 2005-06 (Rs 10.8 crore in 2004-05). Sales increased 40 per cent to Rs 303.6 crore, including exports of Rs 41.5 crore. During the first half of 2005-06, the company's net profits increased 135 per cent to Rs 38.6 crore and sales 54 per cent to Rs 526.9 crore. According to an official release, on a consolidated basis, Thermax group sales were Rs 700 crore (increase of 45 per cent over the corresponding previous half year) and net profit was up 56 per cent to Rs 39 crore (Rs 25 crore). During the first half, ME Engineering Ltd, UK, a wholly owned subsidiary of the company incurred a substantial loss. A turnaround process has been put in place.
