`Ropeways vital for tourism'

THERE is a need for setting up more ropeways in the country to promote tourism, and ropeways are perfectly safe and they add to the excitement, according to Mr Shekhar Chakraborty, Managing Director, Conveyor and Ropeway Services Private Ltd, Kolkata.

He was speaking at a function atop Kailasagiri here on Tuesday evening to mark the first anniversary of the installation of the ropeway. His company set up the ropeway and is maintaining it.
