Announcements Marketing - New Products & Services Honda Siel rolls out City ZX in Hyderabad Our Bureau
Hyderabad , Nov. 18 HONDA Siel Cars India Ltd on Friday announced the introduction of its new City VTEC range in Hyderabad and the company has received bookings for over 2000 ZX sedans since its launch earlier this year. The National Sales Manager, Honda Siel, Mr Arvind Bhatnagar, said "the decision to launch City ZX in India, almost simultaneously with other parts of Asia, is part of our thrust to bring in the latest products and technologies from our global stable for Indian customers." The City ZX range includes four variants, including one with automatic transmission, that feature advanced combustion system of the 1.5-litre Intelligent Dual and Sequential Ignition (I-DSI) which embodies a VTEC (variable, valve timing and lift electronic control) engine. The initial response to the new range has been very encouraging. The company has received over 2000 bookings for City ZX. It expects to sell about 17,000 new cars by the end of this year. Together with the earlier version, the total sales of City would be about 37,000 cars. The Greater Noida plant had been recently expanded, which would now have the capacity to handle 50,000 cars as against 30,000 earlier. The expansion was undertaken with an investment of about Rs 150 crore. The new range, priced between Rs 6.88 lakh and Rs 8.13 lakh ex-showroom, in Hyderabad is being displayed at the company's dealershipSundaram Honda.
