Mahindra British, MICO sign pact with Maharashtra Govt

Our Bureau

Mumbai , Nov. 18

THE Maharashtra Government is likely to sign memoranda of understanding (MoU) with Mahindra British Telecom (MBT) and Motor Industries Co Ltd (MICO) on Monday. The MoUs are for expanding the two companies' operations in the State.

Sources close to MBT confirmed that the MoU would be signed for its new software development campus, which is coming up Hinjawadi, near Pune. Spread over 25 acres, the MBT campus would be capable of housing more than 7,000 software engineers and will offer video conferencing facilities, training centres, food courts, a gymnasium and a sports complex.

The campus will also include over a million sq. ft. of residential space, with a self-contained residential park consisting of 300 apartments and 100 row houses. It would be the first campus of MBT in the country and it is likely to be completed by 2006.

The MoU with MICO would be for its new common rail diesel injection project. MICO already has operations in Nashik, the emerging auto components and engineering base in the State.
