Corporate Disputes Inventory completed at Birla House in Kolkata, Allahabad Our Legal Correspondent
Kolkata , Nov. 18 THE Joint Special Officers, appointed by Justice Mr Kalyan Jyoti Sengupta of the Calcutta High Court in the Probate proceeding pertaining to the will left behind by Priyamvada Birla, filed a report on Thursday, completing the inventory of Birla House at Kolkata and Allahabad. In the report, the Special Officers have stated that in terms of the court's order, they deposited the entire valuables in the vault of a nationalised bank, after listing these during inventory. The report speaks of finding gold coins of the Gupta age and the Mughal period. Precious stones such as diamond, emerald, ruby, etc, have also been found. All the valuables have been kept in a big trunk, sealed with cotton and lac, the report reveals. Since the bank cannot provide a locker of such big size, a vault has been made available where the sealed trunk has been kept. It is further stated in the report that both the parties co-operated with the Special Officers to carry out the task. The bank account has been opened by three of the Joint Special Officers. The inventory of Delhi and Mumbai houses of Priyamvada Birla has not yet been completed.
