Exports & Imports Govt extends operation of export promotion schemes to new areas Our Bureau
New Delhi , Nov. 19 THE Government has extended the applicability of various export promotion schemes to the Lucknow (Amausi) airport, Inland Container Depots (ICDs) at Kundli, Bhadohi and Raipur, Land Customs Stations (LCS) at Nepalganj Road, Agartala and Sutarkhandi and the Amritsar Rail Cargo. An official release said that this move would help reduce the transaction cost for importers and exporters located in the adjoining areas (under the various export promotion schemes.) The Government has also amended a notification earlier issued under the duty-free credit entitlement (DFCE) scheme to enable the availment of drawback or Cenvat benefit on the additional duty of customs (CVD) paid through debit in the DFCE licences. An option has also been given to the DFCE licence holder to either pay the element of CVD in cash or through debit for imported goods. A notification issued under Target Plus Scheme has also been amended to allow the licence holder to pay the element of CVD for imported goods in cash or through debit.
