KOCHI: Prof Mercy Williams, Mayor of Cochin City Corporation, has inaugurated the training academy centre of VETA, one of the largest English training academies in the country.

VETA has over 90 franchisee centres in the South and nearly four lakh students have been trained through the direct centres of VETA.

According to Major Rajan, General Manager, VETA, the course curriculum in the institute is designed based on extensive research and direct experience. It is supported with interactive sessions in the classroom giving the student a holistic experience. The training starts with a need analysis and programmes are designed keeping in mind the growing needs and dynamism of today's job market, he said.

Founded in 1981 as the Vivekananda Institute, the academy known as VETA, has over 90 centres in Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Pondicherry.
