Mindteck plans arm in Malaysia

MINDTECK, an Indian IT services company, plans to set up a subsidiary in Malaysia to expand in East Asia. The company has a SAP competency centre in Singapore and aims to tap the growth in West Asia to achieve its targeted growth of $40 million by 2007.

The company is focusing on embedded systems involving product engineering, embedded software development and verification and validation services.

According to Mr P.A. Ananthanarayanan, CEO, Mindteck, while the US accounted for a major portion of revenue earnings, West Asian countries offered a rich potential for Mindteck. The company also plansto increase its headcount from the current 350 to about 1,000 by next year.

As part of this expansion, it has opened a 50,000 sq ft development centre in Bangalore.
