4 Pune companies shortlisted for IT innovations award

PUNE, which is becoming the IT hotspot, has made its presence felt at the IT innovations awards 2005, instituted by the National Association of Software and Service Companies (Nasscom).

Four Pune companies— AccelTree Software Pvt Ltd, Jopasana Software and Systems Pvt Ltd, Rapideffect Pvt Ltd and Cash Tech Solutions— and two Mumbai-based companies, Micro Technologies (India) Pvt Ltd and Soft Del Systems, have made it to the final round of the western region.

This was announced here on Monday by Mr Ganesh Natarajan, Chairman, Nasscom Innovation Forum, and Deputy Chairman and Managing Director, Zensar Ltd.

He said the Nasscom IT Innovation in India Award was in its second year now andabout 135 companies had submitted their nominations for the award.

Of this, about 20 had been shortlisted, of which Pune gathered the most in the western region.

He said the winners would be felicitated at Nasscom's India Leadership Forum 2006, which would be held in February.

The broad categories for 2005 included products/IPR and Services (IT services, ITES-BPO, Research and Development).

Mr Natarajan said after Pune, the shortlisted companies from other regions would showcase their products in Bangalore on November 28, Hyderabad on December 5 and Delhi on December 9.
