Announcements L&T bags Rs 252-cr orders in electricity distribution Our Bureau
Mumbai , Nov. 22 LARSEN & Toubro Ltd (L&T) has announced that it has secured orders worth Rs 252 crore in the electrical, transmission and distribution sector. A 400-kilo-volt switchyard in Himachal Pradesh, a substation in Bhutan, and a 132-km long power transmission line in Chhattisgarh are among the slew of orders secured by the engineering construction and contracts division of the company, L&T informed the BSE on Tuesday. L&T won a Rs 55-crore order from National Thermal Power Corporation to set up a 400-KV switchyard in Himachal Pradesh for the Koldam Hydro Electric Power Project. The switchyard will be completed in 29 months. At Rajgarh in Chhattisgarh, the company has been given an order to execute a complete 4x250-megawatt power plant electrification package valued at over Rs 56 crore for Jindal Power Ltd. It also secured a Rs 30.89-crore contract for setting up a 220/66/11-KV substation at Malbase, Bhutan for Bhutan Power Corporation Ltd. The project will be completed in a year. At present, L&T is executing a 400-KV turnkey switchyard package valued at Rs 90 crore for the same client. Major transmission line orders received by L&T from the Power Grid Corporation of India include a Rs 53.41-crore order for a 132-km long, 400-KV double circuit line in Chattisgarh and a Rs 56.55-crore order for a 108-km long, 400-KV double circuit transmission line from Perumbulur-Pugalur in Tamil Nadu. Shares of L&T moved up by Rs 21.80 to Rs 1,571.50 on the BSE on Tuesday.
