Bangalore , Nov 23

ACCENTURE has joined hands with XLRI to launch an HR training academy that will groom talent to cater to its internal HR needs. In a first-of-its kind partnership, recent graduates seeking careers in HR can access specialised skills that the IT and ITeS sectors require. The first batch of 34 professionals (screened and recrutied and now Accenture employees) is undergoing the first phase of training at the organisation. At the end of the 24-month programme, the participants would receive the `Accenture and XLRI Certification in Human Capital Management.' During the programme, the candidates will go through both face-to-face and virtual lessons. Though the faculty would mainly comprise professors from XLRI, top management executives of Accenture, from India and other locations, would also coach the candidates on various aspects of HR.

Pointing out to the relevance of such courses, Ms Rekha Menon, Head, Geographic India Services, Accenture, said that with the HR exec-employee ratio standing at 1:70, the industry would need close to 40,000 HR professionals. "This initiative will help us build relevant skills and increase our HR talent pool," she said.

Mr Rahul Varma, India HR Lead, Accenture, explained : "It will help us build a long-term trained workforce and give a differentiated approach to HR."
