Saving the ecosystem

Mining in Kudremukh should not be allowed to continue at any cost. Mining there has spoilt the balance of the ecosystem in the entire valley as well as the beautiful Malnad region of Karnataka.

We should not be taking the short-cut to economic growth and progress, but instead look long term in preserving the delicate balance with nature for our future generations.

I'm surprised that a senior politician like Mr Deve Gowda is seeing only one side of the story. The government should look at providing the affected workers other job alternatives than allowing mining to continue in Kudremukh.
