AS part of Nasscom's IT workforce development initiative, this premier chamber for software and services industry proposes to organise an IT-ITES Industry - Academia meet at the Bannari Amman Institute of Technology campus at Sathyamangalam on November 30.

The workshop aims at providing a platform for the industry to engage with academia on a sustained basis. Nasscom, along with its ITWD forum members, has organised a series of such workshops in different parts of the country.

Mr Kiran Karnik, President, Nasscom, is expected to inaugurate the meet.

The Director of Bannari Amman Institute of Technology, Dr S. K. Sundararaman, observed that education should have direct relevance to employability and the ultimate value metric for technical education should lie in "the appreciation of student recruits by companies".
