R Systems, provider of Integrated Product Lifecycle Management (iPLM) services, said it has major expansion plans for India.

R Systems has three offices in India (Noida, Pune and Chennai) employing 800 people, while its offshore centres in the US and Asia employ 200 staff.

Set up in 1993 by Mr Rekhi Singh, an IIT-Kharagpur alumni, R Systems has attracted investments from GE Capital and Intel Capital. "The company is the trusted outsourcing partner for over 200 Fortune 1000, Government and mid-sized customers. It provides high quality IT and business process outsourcing solutions through its unique iPLM services, which are the preferred option for product vendors seeking cost effective solutions,'' it said in a news release.

Its products and services have over 55,000 users across 39 countries spanning industries such as banking, telecom and electronics.

"We believe in greater bonding with our customers and growing with our customers. This will differentiate us from our competitors", Mr Singh told Business Line. The company plans to double its employee strength during the year and to expand its customers in the SME segment. With a current turnover of Rs 150 crore, the company aims to be a million-dollar entity within 5 years.
