Softsol, Ananth join to offer GIS services

SOFTSOL India Ltd, technology solutions provider, has entered into a strategic alliance with Ananth Technologies Ltd, to offer solutions in the geographical information services (GIS) and photogrammetry applications space.

Under the terms of the agreement, they plan to offer GIS services and solutions to the clients worldwide. These cover data conversion and maintenance, system maintenance and management application development, data migration and digital mapping.

The General Manager of Softsol, GIS Practice, Mr D.V.V.Prasad, told Business Line "the company's customers in the US and Europe, both Government and private sector, will now be able to receive specialised GIS services that were previously not commonly available on outsourced model."Combining the offshore capabilities of Softsol and Ananth and Softsol's marketing strengths in the US, we plan to tap new markets," he said.

Last fiscal, Softsol Resources Inc, the company's US based wholly-owned subsidiary, recorded total revenues of $11.49 million and the Indian company recorded total income of Rs. 5.79 crore and net profit of Rs. 0.36 crore.
