Rail transport of iron and steel

BETWEEN 1991-02 and 2003-04, the production of pig iron and finished steel increased from 15.92 million tonnes to 41.57 mt, posting a CAGR of 8.33 per cent.

During the same period, the rail transportation of pig iron and finished steel increased from 11.5 mt to 14.66 mt, or a CAGR of 2.04 mt.
