Eco-sanitary mart at Adimalathura

Our Bureau

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The city-based Eco-solutions, an organisation that promotes ecological sanitation practices, is setting up an `eco-sanitary mart' at Adimalathura near Thiruvananthapuram.

According to Ms Veena M, Project Officer, Eco-solutions, the `eco sanitary mart' will sell toilet pans for use in dry composting toilets. It was in August this year that the organisation launched a new toilet pan to be used in dry composting toilets.

The organisation is looking at the possibility of setting up a production unit attached to the mart, she added.

The `eco sanitary mart' will be inaugurated on Monday. A delegation with representatives from the United Nations Children's Fund's (Unicef) Bhopal office, Government officials from Madhya Pradesh and non-governmental organisations will be present on the occasion, Ms Veena said.
