Our Bureau

BANGALORE: Infinera has captured the leading position in high-speed long-haul optical networks in the third quarter 2005, according to a report published by independent market analyst, the Dell'Oro Group.

Infinera took 20 per cent of the market for shipments of 10 gigabit long-haul optical systems worldwide. Infinera provides telecommunications systems based on breakthrough photonic integration technology.

Carriers can deploy these systems to build digital optical networks, which allow flexible access to new customers and markets, simplify operations, and reduce network costs.
