NMPT to hold trade meet

Our Bureau

MANGALORE: The New Mangalore Port Trust (NMPT) is planning to hold trade meets at Sakleshpur in Hassan district and in Bangalore in the coming months.

The Hassan-Mangalore railway line, which is likely to be completed by December, will give a thrust to cargo transportation from these regions.

Lack of a railway line between Bangalore and Mangalore is one of the reasons for NMPT not getting enough quantity of container cargo from Bangalore, and coffee cargo from Sakleshpur
