1 killed in explosion at Aurobindo Pharma unit

THERE was an explosion at one of the units of Aurobindo Pharma Ltd (APL) on the city outskirts here on Monday killing a worker. The company has informed the stock exchanges that the explosion took place at the drier unit in one of the blocks of Unit -5 located in IDA, Pashamylaram, during drying operations.

However, the company said other production blocks are not affected and the production is going uninterrupted. The extent of damage at Unit-5 is minimal and is being assessed. Further, the company said a high level technical team is assessing the cause of accident.
