Clarification

With reference to the news report "Ruia group close to clinching Dunlop buy" published in these columns on November 25, a Jumbo Group spokesman has said that the report of a Kolkata-based party as having clinched the deal to buy Jumbo Group's tyre assets is premature as the latter is only one of the many entities who have shown interest in the group's tyre assets. The spokesman has further added that the Jumbo Group does not intend to be a long-term player in the tyre business but, however, no final decision has been taken in respect of its sale as on date.
