Air Liquide to set up $20-m unit at Roorkee

AIR Liquide India, a subsidiary of France-based Air Liquide, on Tuesday announced plans to set up a $20 million air separation plant at Roorkee in Uttaranchal. The plant would provide nitrogen to Asahi India Glass Ltd (AIGL) facility in Roorkee.

Air Liquide India's Managing Director, Mr G. Rajeshwar Rao told reporters that the plant would have a capacity of 250 tonnes per day and would start operations in June 2006. Air Liquide has signed a 15-year agreement with Asahi Glass for supply of gases.
