Airlines Mahan Air flights from Kochi Our Bureau

Kochi , Nov. 30 THE Iranian airlines Mahan Air will commence flight operations from Cochin International Airport Ltd on December 2. Addressing a press conference here, Mr Mohammad Ahani, Deputy Chief of Mission, Iranian Embassy, New Delhi, said that this would be the second Indian city after Delhi, from which Mahan Air will be operating its flights. There are four flights a week between Tehran and Delhi. With three flights a week scheduled for Kochi, the airline will be operating seven flights a week to India. This will increase the number of international destinations that is being catered to by Mahan Air. Currently, Mahan Air caters to 12 cities within Iran and an additional 21 destinations in 10 countries across the world. The airline, which operates Airbus 310 and 320 aircraft, has transported around 65,000 passengers and 300 tonnes of cargo between India and Iran. It is emerging as a link between Far East, West Asia and Eastern Europe. Besides convenient flights to Dubai, Jeddah, Damascus, Birmingham, Dusseldorf, Manchester and Bangkok, Mahan Air also connects New York, Los Angeles and Toronto through its partner airlines. Passengers from Kerala can now enjoy convenient connections and economical flights particularly to the Gulf through Tehran, airline officials said.
