New Products & Services O2 launches multimedia PDA phone Xda Atom Our Bureau

New Delhi , Nov. 30 CELLULAR handset maker O2 today launched `world's smallest multimedia PDA-phone' Xda Atom in India. The handset comes with multiple features specially designed to suit the requirements of professionals. "The portable powerhouse works on Windows Mobile 5.0 operating system and offers a range of services such as music, audiobooks, videos and camera." Mr Mark Billington, Chief Executive Officer, O2 (Asia Pacific), told reporters after launching the handset at a press conference. The handset is priced at Rs 38,888 and enables high-speed data connectivity. Mr Billington said that the phone can help view PowerPoint files, create tables and charts using Word and Excel and also access e-mail accounts while on the move. In the PDA-segment, O2 is the market leader with 50 per cent share. Asked if the company was contemplating setting up a manufacturing base in India, Mr Billington said: "We might think about it in future depending on the need."
