Nabard's Rs 604.56-cr credit plan for Kodagu district

THE National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Nabard) has prepared a Rs 604.56-crore potential-linked credit plan for Kodagu district for the year 2006-07.

A press release by Mr A.L. Kulkarni, Assistant General Manager of Nabard, Kodagu, said here that of the total institutional credit flow estimated at Rs 604.56 crore under the priority sector, the highest share has gone to crop loans at Rs 424.38 crore. Of this, Rs 303.80 crore has been earmarked for coffee crop.

Under the plan, Virajpet block has the highest share at Rs 251.03 crore, followed by Madikeri at Rs 195.80 crore and Somwarpet at Rs 157.72 crore.

The release said that the Nabard has been preparing potential-linked credit plans to bring about a qualitative improvement in the annual credit planning exercise taken up by the banks.
