Bangalore , Dec.2

THE Microsoft Chairman, Mr Bill Gates, will inaugurate MAIT's Digital Lifestyle 2005 exhibition on December 9 in the city. The Manufacturer's Association of Information Technology (MAIT) is an apex body representing the hardware, training and R&D services sectors of the IT industry.

The event aims to bring consumers face to face with the latest in digital technology, including video, photography, music, Internet, wireless technologies, games and home entertainment.

In a press release, Mr Vinnie Mehta, Executive Director, MAIT, said, "Today, households account for close to 30 per cent of the total IT consumption, and with the home market getting savvier, we thought it appropriate to launch a show tailor-made for the consumers."

Mr Gates is visiting the country for four days starting December 6.
