Tata Motors Nov sales up 9.1 pc

TATA Motors Ltd has reported total sales of 34,282 vehicles (including exports) for November 2005, up 9.1 per cent from 31,428 vehicles sold during the same time last year.

According to an official statement, the company's domestic sales of commercial vehicles increased by 12.2 per cent to 17,694 units (15,774 units for the year ago period). This included M&HCV sales at 10,973 units and LCV sales at 6,721 units.

In its passenger vehicles business, the company reported total sales of 13,126 units in the domestic market, a growth of 0.3 per cent. The Indica sold 8,253 units while the Indigo family had sales of 2,434 units. The Sumo and Safari accounted for sales of 2,439 units, the statement said.

Exports in November touched 3,462 units (2,565 units), a rise of 35 per cent.

For the year so far, Tata Motors' cumulative sales were up 9.5 per cent at 2,70,586 units. During the period, the company sold 1,24,739 commercial vehicles and 1,14,473 passenger vehicles.

Exports so far have gained by 103.2 per cent to 31,374 units.
