BEML unveils Chinese-made wheel loader at Excon 2005

BHARAT Earth Movers Ltd (BEML) has unveiled the Chinese-made ZL30 wheel loader for marketing in the country.

The loader made by Xiamen Company is used in infrastructure projects, opencast mines and construction industry, a company release said.

ZL30 is one of the loaders that the defence PSU will initially market under an agreement signed with the Chinese company in April this year. It hopes to extend the arrangement to licence-manufacturing them later at its plants in the State, a spokesperson said.

Mr M.R. Sreenivasa Murthy, Managing Director, Karnataka Road Transport Corporation, unveiled the loader at Excon-2005, the ongoing third construction equipment and technology fair.

The domestic construction equipment major is showcasing its equipment BE71, BE200 and BE220 hydraulic excavators, BD31 and BD65 bulldozers, BL9H backhoe loader, BL10C side discharge loader, BG605X motor grader and the BDG diesel generator set.

BEML has also been adjudged the fastest growing construction equipment company in the country according to a study by Construction World-NICMAR, the release said. It has moved to the top slot since 2004, when it was ranked second by the same study.

For the fiscal year 2004-05, the company posted a record pre-tax profit of Rs 272 crore. For the current fiscal, it has targeted revenue of Rs 2,200 crore, backed by an order-book position of Rs 2,150 crore till November this year and prospects of fresh orders from upcoming metro rail coach projects, the release said.
