Hyderabad , Dec. 4

THE Central Power Distribution Company of Andhra Pradesh Ltd (CPDCL), one of the distribution companies in the State, has recorded about 14.48 per cent increase in revenues during the first half of this year from Rs 2,341 crore to Rs 2,680 crore.

The company's sales have also gone up from 9270 million units to 9790 MUs during the period.

In a statement from the office of the Chairman and Managing Director of CPDCL, Mr Heeralal Samariya, said the company has initiated a series of measures, including streamlining the work process which would improve the company's overall performance during the latter part of this fiscal.

As part of streamlining the work process, the company is in the process of implementing enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution for financial and material management, human resources development and integrated billing applications.

A modern wide area network (WAN) is being created for effective use of the ERP system. To eliminate problems of disturbance and inconvenience to consumers while taking meter readings, the company has installed low tension (LT) service consumer meters on the respective nearby electric poles in the twin cities.

This facility will help in swift replacement of defective meters, disconnection and reconnection of services without any disturbance to consumers. This will also ensure that the consumers get the right bill, Mr Samariya said.

For better consumer experience, the company has established 121 Web-based customer service centres to receive complaints and also to address them without delay.
