Excon 2005 in Bangalore generates business enquiries worth Rs 1,000 crore

Bangalore , Dec 4

THE five-day construction equipment and technology trade fair, Excon 2005, ended on Sunday at the city. Organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), it attracted more than 25,000 business and trade visitors and has generated business enquiries to the tune of Rs 1,000 crore, said a release.

"There is an infrastructure revolution that is going on in this country and such exhibitions provide the opportunity to further trigger it," said Mr S.K. Mittra, General Manager, Larsen & Toubro Ltd, Construction and Mining Equipment business unit.

"We received business enquiries approximately worth Rs 45 crore-50 crore over the last five days.

What is all the more encouraging is the change witnessed in serious discussions from both Indian and international customers that have resulted in these order bookings," said Mr Mrityunjaya Singh, Vice-President, Volvo Construction Equipment. Excon 2005 witnessed a participation of 170 exhibitors in the construction equipment and technology sector.
