THE Nasscom Innovation Forum has embarked on a mission to seek companies that thrive on innovation and intellectual property creation.

The idea is to showcase these companies and their products and help them develop further. The shortlisted companies and their innovation would be taken to a larger group at the National Association of Software and Services Companies annual event to be held in February 2006.

The Nasscom Innovation Forum Chair, Dr Ganesh Natarjan, said the entire effort would be to see that innovation helps India stay ahead. The Nasscom Forum received participation from 136 companies, with Bangalore accounting for 36 followed by the NCR (27), Mumbai/Pune (25), Chennai (16), Hyderabad (14) and rest of India (18).

Nasscom panellists shortlisted about 20 companies and of them four are from Hyderabad. These include Java Softech, Ocimum Biosolutions, SatNav Technologies and Yasu Technologies. A Chennai-based company, Midas Communications, also participated.

The winners will be felicitated at the Nasscom India Leadership Forum 2006.
