Road to improvement

This is with reference to the article "India needs to take GCFI as seriously as GDP" (Business Line, December 2). There is no doubt that Infrastructure will improve the productivity and competitiveness of industries, which are robust at the moment.

It is to be noted that not only new infrastructure but also existing ones need to be given due attention. For instance, the existing roads in Coimbatore are in really bad shape and, considering the fact that it is a fast growing industrial hub, it would do a lot of good for the people and industry if something concrete was done about the situation.
