Metso Minerals plans expansion

BANGALORE: Rock and mineral processor Metso Minerals plans to double its manufacturing capacity and increase its foundry capacity in India.

The Mesto Minerals President for India, Mr Sudhir Srivastava, told Business Line that the company expects to grow at around 20 per cent CAGR basis. "India is now on the world map of Metso Mineral as it is considered one of the fastest growing," Mr Srivastava said.

He said the company had invested around $24 million so far. The capacity of the foundry in Gujarat is expected to go up to 2,000 tonnes from 1,200 tonnes. The manufacture of number of mobile crushing units will also be increased to 60 units per annum from 20 units.

Mr Srivastava said the company has also started offering service contracts to its customers. "It has become one of the focus areas for us," he said.

The Finland-headquartered Metso Minerals offers equipment, service and process solutions to industries including quarrying and aggregates products, mining and minerals processing, construction and civil engineering and recycling and waste management. It has manufacturing plants, sales and service offices and distributors in over 100 countries.

Some of its brands include, Nordberg, Trellex, Svedala and Metso.
