TATA Consultancy Services Ltd (TCS) has entered into a global partnership with SAP AG to deliver `Adaptive Manufacturing Solutions' using SAPManufacturing Integration and Intelligence and a set of TCS' industry-specific composite applications.

TCS also announced on Tuesday that its software tool for plant information integration, which will form the basis for these composites, was certified as `Powered by SAP NetWeaver.'

The announcement was made in conjunction with SAP's third annual Industry Analyst summit, being held in Las Vegas, the US, according to a news release from TCS.

The SAP xMII Solution was launched by SAP in October, following the acquisition of Lighthammer. The SAP xMII composite application helps

manufacturers become more adaptive by connecting mySAP(tm) ERP to the plant floor in real time.

TCS has already commenced the ramp-up of a delivery team to support this initiative.

TCS also announced its decision to set up a dedicated team to develop `composites,' which are based on the SAP NetWeaverplatform.

This will be done in close collaboration with SAP's development team in India and Germany.
