New Products & Services Konica opens exclusive studio for portrait photos Our Bureau
Chennai , Dec. 6 KONICA Color Lab's Studio `K', a concept studio dedicated exclusively to portrait photography, was inaugurated here today. The lab is spread over 4,500 sq ft, and does photography for wedding, bridal, family, child, business, fashion and portfolio pictures, according to Mr J.P. Acharya, Managing Partner, Nippon Enterprises South, Konica. Mr Chetan Acharya, Partner, Nippon Enterprises South, told a press conference that the studio uses a digital SLR-Nikon D2X, a 12.4-megapixel camera. He said that the camera has a wireless transmitter embedded, so the picture, once taken, is stored in the computer, which has a wireless receiver attached. The picture is then displayed within a few seconds in a 55-inch plasma screen that is on display just above the shooting area, so that the person whose picture is being taken can view it immediately, and make adjustments in his or her position accordingly. He said that a hair stylist and a make-up artist would be on duty at all times, and the photographer, Mr Jana Menon, has over thirty years experience in photography. The lounge of the studio is also equipped with a plasma screen television, in which the customer can select the pictures. The prints will be made on Konica's latest printing device, the R3 Super. The cost of a session at Studio `K' ranges from Rs 2,000 plus taxes for an infant portrait to Rs 10,000 plus taxes for a model portfolio. For each of the packages, a hundred pictures will be taken, and eight pictures will be provided except for the model portfolio for which 15 pictures will be provided. Additional pictures can be bought at Rs 250 each.
