Flood relief

It is unfortunate that though the whole of Tamil Nadu is reeling under the impact of the recent floods and despite two visits by the Central Team for damage assessment, sufficient funds are yet to be released.

While the State Government deserves appreciation for tackling the crisis to some extent, unless sufficient national relief is granted, little aid will reach affected areas. The Centre should hasten its aid and dispatch relief funds.

On returning from Russia, the Prime Minister should make a visit to the affected areas to assess the extent of damage.
