Our Bureau

Kochi , Dec. 7

KERALA Chamber of Commerce and Industry has expressed serious concern over the demand of heavy security amount by the Sales Tax officers for granting registration under the VAT Act.

Mr C.P. Jain, President of the Chamber said that this has created unnecessary loss of time and money of the business community and would cause severe hardships for them.

While on the one hand, the officials from the ST department inspect the shops and business establishments and compel the businessmen to register under VAT Act, on the other hand the same officials delay the registration process by demanding exorbitant security amount, he said.
