TMB raises NRE, FCNR rates

THE Tuticorin-based Tamilnad Mercantile Bank Ltd has hiked the interest rates on its NRE and FCNR(B) term deposits with effect from December 1.

The bank has increased the interest rate on the "One year to below 2 years category" of NRE term deposits by 10 basis points to 5.60 per cent from 5.50 per cent in the previous month.

It has not changed the interest rate for "2 years to below 3 years category" from the previous month and offers 5.60 per cent.

Further, the bank has decreased 10 bps for "3 years category" to 5.60 per cent (5.70 per cent).

On FCNR(B) deposits, the bank has raised the rates on various maturity periods in dollars, pound, euro and Canadian dollars.
