Neoware enhances thin client portfolio

Our Bureau

Bangalore , Dec. 8

THIN clients will be adopted rapidly in India over the next few years. India's sales dominated the Asian market for thin clients, which rose by 47 per cent in the third quarter of this year. This is in comparison to 25 per cent recorded in the US and 39 per cent in Europe.

"We expect the Indian market for thin clients to double next year," said Mr Michael Kantrowitz, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Neoware, a US-based thin client maker.

The ITeS and BPO sector are expected to adopt thin clients across the country. "In India, the education segment is taking strongly to thin clients," said Mr Sowinder Singh, Director, Parrus IT Solutions.

Corporates, government, banking and financial sectors can also take advantage of thin client architecture, he said. Parrus IT Solutions is a partner of Neoware.

Neoware Inc on Thursday introduced additions to its portfolio for the Indian market. Neoware c50 is a thin client that offers more processing power, while e370 is integrated into a 17-inch flat panel monitor.
