CHENNAI: Polaris Software Lab, on Friday, said that Microsoft has chosen it as a launch partner for the launch of Visual Studio 2005 and SQL Server 2005 in the city.

A statement from Polaris quoted Mr Koen van Den Brande, Chief Technology Officer of the company, as saying: "We take this to be a recognition of our work in developing products like Collect.NET using Microsoft's technologies."

As Microsoft's ascend partner for Visual Studio 2005 and SQL Server 2005, Polaris has had access to beta versions of the software and special training from Microsoft on these technologies, it said.

Collect.Net is Polaris' customer delinquency management system targeted at banks. The statement claimed that the company has proven that developer productivity could be increased three-fold, on the new platform.
