ICICI Bank pilot project in Guntur dist

Our Bureau

Kolkata , Dec. 9

AS part of its thrust in rural India and providing banking facilities in areas where setting up branches is not viable, ICICI Bank has taken up a pilot project in Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh whereby multiple channels - such as the bank's own branches, micro credit corporations, kiosks, self-help groups, etc - would be accessed to provide an array of banking services in the entire district.

If successful, the model could well be replicated in around 600 districts across the country, Mr K.V. Kamath, Managing Director & CEO of ICICI Bank, told presspersons on the sidelines of Infocom 2005 Conference & Exhibition organised here jointly by Businessworld and Nasscom.
