World Phone launches economy plan

WORLD Phone Internet Services Private Ltd (WPISPL) has announced the launch of World Phone Economy Plan, which will enable consumers to call over 40 countries around the world for Rs 2 per minute using the Internet telephony platform. As per the plan, users gets 500 talk minutes for a monthly subscription fee of Rs 995.

Mr Aditya Ahluwalia, Managing Director, World Phone, said World Phone is currently looking at expanding its customer base around the country, particularly in the home users and small and medium-sized business segments. "Our Economy Plan, backed by our world class technology backbone, will enable us gain a strong foothold in these segments."

Targeted at home users and small and medium sized businesses, the Economy Plan is available for subscription through its own offices, channel partners and authorised resellers in the following cities - New Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Kolkata and Chennai. The calls will be routed through the worldwide Internet backbone leveraging World Phone's high speed data networks spread across the country. Other ISPs like Net4India offer net telephony at Rs 2.90 a minute but without any monthly payment. Most ISPs offer calling cards for various denomination starting from Rs 50 to Rs 20,000.
