In great demand

A seafood exporter exhibiting a lobster at his stall in Kochi. Demand for live and whole cooked lobster in the international market is rising. India, the third largest fish-producing nation in the world, exports seafood to more than 70 countries and earns about Rs 6,100 crore in foreign exchange. The Marine Products Export Development Authority has set an export target of $2 billion. Currently, prices for lobster in Kochi range between Rs 700 and 1,500 a kg.
