AP Govt's order on sugar purchase tax

HYDERABAD: The State Government has passed an order directing the officials to pass on the purchase tax of Rs 60 a tonne in respect of sugar factories and Rs 22 a tonne in respect of khandasari sugar units to the cane growers for the 2005-06 season.

A Government release said on Monday that the decision had been taken keeping in mind the heavy rains, floods, and cyclones, this season.

The order would come into force with effect from December 1. These incentives should be paid to the cane suppliers within 14 days from the date of purchase.
