PURA mission

In the article "NURM must be a PURA mission"(Business Line, December 12), the author has emphasised the need for out-migration of people from cities. And creating new urban settlements. This could differ from each State and place according to the prevailing conditions.

The PURA model should be effectively implemented in the rural areas to arrest village-to-city migration.

Needed is a policy that can use the PURA model to make NURM a success. The Government should introduce a policy that new industries/expansions/ settlements should be set up without harming existing gainful or life-sustaining establishments.
