Cross industry building, a selling point for ECHC

Our Bureau

Chennai , Dec. 14

CROSS industry building will be the major selling point for Enrich Customers with Human Capital (ECHC) Management Services — a company that provides recruitment services, according to Mr K.V. Ramesh, Chairman and Managing Director, ECHC.

He said that cross industry building, which involves recruiting someone from a different vertical, is an emerging trend today. He said that bringing someone in at the managerial level from a different discipline altogether brings different practices, beliefs and perspectives that would facilitate growth in the company.

He said that ECHC is a group of senior business executives with people process track records across various verticals such as IT, manufacturing and insurance. He said that they were on the look out for a business, financial and insurance (BFSI) expert, as well as an expert in the healthcare segment.

ECHC lays emphasis on the fact that it does not believe in poaching, or luring a candidate from one firm to another with an increased salary. Mr Ramesh said that apart from the ethical side of the issue, recruiting such people does not allow for stability, as they may be lured away in a similar manner later on. He said the candidates were assessed on the basis of competency, behaviour, and culture, which refers to their ability to adapt to a new situation.
