Vijayawada , Dec. 14

EFFTRONICS, set up here in 1985 with Rs 45,000, has now grown into a small software company with an annual turnover of Rs 15.60 crore, providing employment to 285 persons.

At a press meet here on Tuesday, Mr D. Ramakrishna, Managing Director, said the company would celebrate its twentieth anniversary on Thursday and on the occasion several programmes would be organised all day long.

He said the company had developed LED moving display systems and several products specifically for the Indian railways.

`We have developed a data logger and products for monitoring the status of signalling systems for the Railways," Mr Ramakrishna said.

He said the company would set up a research and development centre on the occasion. "We want to develop niche products," he said.

He said the State Government should encourage the smaller software companies here and give them incentives and required facilities.
