Outlook InterGlobe scouting for `low cost' facility outside India Moumita Bakshi Chatterjee
New Delhi , Dec 15 InterGlobe Technologies, an end-to-end travel technology and process outsourcing solutions provider, is considering setting up a development centre at a low-cost location outside India, with an initial capacity of 100 seats. "We are considering setting up an overseas development centre, which could be located in the Asia-Pacific region or even in South America. Three of our clients are asking us to look at low-cost locations outside India," Mr Vipul Doshi, Chief Executive Officer, InterGlobe Technologies, said here. The company would take a decision on the overseas facility within a month. "One concern that clients have is wage inflation in the country. They want to know if we can support them overseas, in addition to India," Mr Doshi said. The company is also planning to set up a new development centre in Chennai with 300-400 seats. The new facility, expected to be operational in about three months, would focus on building next-generation Airline Reservation System (ARS) on ZTPF platform. "ARS is traditionally on TPF platform, but the new platform would use Linux, C++ and Java," he pointed out. The company, last month, announced the expansion of operations with a launch of its second new IT and BPO facility in Gurgaon. It had invested $2 million in the new facility, which has 500 production seats. Its first facility, also in Gurgaon, has 450 seats. At present, close to 70 per cent of the company's operations focuses on software development including applications development, maintenance and production support, while the balance is BPO including voice support, back office, data entry and transaction processing work. InterGlobe Technologies is a travel technology and process outsourcing solutions provider, with its products and service offerings tailored to the needs of global travel industry.
