Manugistics unveils expansion plans

MANUGISTICS Group Inc, a technology and management solutions provider, has announced plans for its Indian operations that would see investment of about $75 million over the next 10 years.

Having established a centre in Hyderabad a year ago, the company plans to increase the head count from the existing 162 to 200 by early next year. This number will be increased to 300 gradually.

The Manugistics Chief Executive Officer, Mr Joe Cowan, who inaugurated a new solution centre here on Thursday, said that the company recorded revenues of $193.1 million during fiscal 2005 and expected a significant growth in future.

Mr Cowan told newspersons that the company was planning a 24X7 support operations from Hyderabad to meet the increasing demand for supply chain management solutions, while concentrating on technology consulting.

Mr Salil Joshi, Managing Director of Manugistics India, said the company was yet to start operations in India, but several low-cost airlines and other firms were in active consultation with the company for deploying its solutions.
